Mayflower II Plymouth Massachusetts

Wednesday, June 9th, 2010

1950′s photograph of the Mayflower II… Unsure of the location, most likely off the Massachusetts coast.

It now sits in Plymouth Harbor and is owned by Plymouth Plantation..

Lucky for us it wasn’t taken out by that helicopter in the photo, looks like it’s only a few feet off the mast..

Needham Massachusetts Square 1920′s

Sunday, February 7th, 2010

Photograph of Needham Square looking east.

From a Post Card.

No date on it, but from the vehicles, I would guess 1920′s, maybe early 30′s.

Hopefully someone more familar with Needham history could narrow it down for me.

Worcester Ma – Return of Civil War Troops 1865

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Main Street , Worcester Massachusetts as it looked in 1865.

Decorated for the return of Worcester troops from the Civil War.

Worcester’s population in 1860 was less than 25,000- She gave to the war the services of 3927 men, more than one in every eight of the population.

In 1910, the battle flags of the regiments raised in Worcester were kept in a case on the second floor of the City Hall, near the Mayor’s office.

I’m unsure as to where they are today.
