1920′s Gay Head Lighthouse Souvenir from Martha’s Vineyard ..
This glass lighthouse is hard to find empty, this one still has the original cork and layered sand in it..
The bottom lists “Charles W Vanderhoop” as the Keeper (you can google him..)..
It’s 6″ tall..
Found some negatives in with a lot purchased on Martha’s Vineyard – Had them developed which produced these interesting ferry shots. The plate on the car is 1947. The ferry , landing like it’s the beach at Normandy, is the “Susanna Marie”- A far cry from the Steamship Authority.
Tried to figure out where on Martha’s Vineyard it is based on the buildings in the background. No luck. If anyone has ideas i would love to hear them.
